Artist's Comments

Chinatown, Singapore.

With each passing day,
he returns to his favorite spot.

With each passing hour,
he recollects on life's gaieties.

With each passing minute,
he ponders over fading reminiscences.

With each tick the clock makes,
time passes like any other day.

I like the composition for this photo, and I think making it black and white adds a special touch to it and brings out the detail to it. I also like how the man seems so relaxed (the bare feet) and yet so thoughtful/stressed (facial expression) at the same time. Overall a good piece of journalistic photography.

Thanks so much for your kind comments.
I love photographing the elderly, and how each individual brings a different story.

Very interesting photo.
I like the choice of b&w as well as the combination of composition and light. Both give the image life and bring out interesting details one can study for quite a while and think about. For example the repetition of 3 elements - 3 lamps, 3 of those carriages (twice - if I sorted through them correctly ;) ), 3 (complete) stone cubes with the man sitting on one of them.

Then there is also a component of mystery there, with that bottle and food(?) on one of the cubes - it leaves us with the question of whom does that belong to? Will the owner come back? Who is it? What is the owner doing and why did he leave that stuff behind?

All in all good work.
